Calligram Self Portrait

Image
I worked on another portrait of myself but instead using text this time. I decided to use a domestic violence poem called Abuse  written by Adri. This photo I took of myself was for a friends clothing line. Her clothing line is to support victims of domestic violence. Overall, this was tricky to make. For some reason I was struggling a lot more on my own than in class. I struggled the most on the lips. I played around with different fonts. It is also transparent. This project took me 4 hours to make.

Adobe Illustrator Portrait

Image
This is a self portrait that I have created in Adobe Illustrator. It took 3 hours to make which isn't awful compared to previous projects. I enjoyed making this and would like to make more art like this. The one thing I struggled with was making the nose. This took the most time and I think I could have made it better. Also the skin color doesn't match up as well either.

Spongebob Canvas Project

Image
This canvas project was really frustrating to make. If I added up all the hours it took me, it would probably be around 48 hours. The hands were the hardest to create. I ended up just making them circles because I was struggling so much. I used a little under 2,000 codes. It may look simple, but it took a lot of time to make. Although there are some things I wish I could fix, I am proud of what I have created.

Adobe Illustrator

Image
This is my first project using Adobe Illustrator. I personally think this is easier to use than Adobe Dreamweaver. On this project, I made a simple background with stars and a gradient. If I made this using Dreamweaver, it would have taken me a lot longer.

Sunset Linear Gradient

Image
On this project, I added different layers including solid and gradient linear colors. I decided to do a sunset on a beach since I live on the shore. At first, I was struggling with the linear gradient. The sun and the sky kept getting mixed up but I ended up figuring out what my issue was. I also wanted to have the ocean be an ombre and fade into the sand as well but I was struggling to make that happen. Instead, I made the water have movement at the end to make it look like it was coming onto the shore. I had the outline be white to look like the foam/bubbles.

5 Curved Shapes

Image
file:///Users/jillian.murphy/Desktop/SMILE%20FACE.html I decided to make a smiley face for this project since I was nicknamed Smiles as a child and it's something basic to make with curves. I struggled with the one eye the most. It was hard to create a perfect circle without having edges. As well on the dollar sign, the bezier curve was making the sign attach from one side to the other. This wasn't much of an issue since dollar signs have a line in the middle. I added two lines on each end of the dollar sign to not make it look like a figure 8. I made the tongue have movement to make it more interactive. This project took me a few hours to make, but not as long as the first project.

10 Shapes Canvas Project

Image
This is my first mini project using Adobe DreamWeaver for Digital Media class. After many hours of sitting in the computer lab, this is the result. We were supposed to create 10 shapes and I have created at least 13. I struggled trying to make the shapes round and move. I think it's because I did not save each shape separately. I tried following different tutorials and looking at notes but I was not able to figure out how. Since it is September, I decided to make a pumpkin on a field.

My Introduction For Digital Media

___________________________        Jillian Murphy    __________________________ This blog started out as a blog for my Animation Class, but I have decided to turn it into a portfolio for my work. It is the beginning of fall semester and I am enrolled in three film classes; Sound, Image and Motion, Digital Media, and American Cinema.  I am most excited to work with Digital Media since I haven't worked with the program Dreamweaver. I expect this class to be a challenge but useful.  A Little About Myself:   I am 19 from Long Branch, New Jersey. I have three siblings; two brothers and one sister. My hobbies/interests are watching short films, traveling, yoga, gymnastics, listening to music, and going to the beach. I have recently switched from the BA program to BFA in Film and Media Arts. I am currently in the process of approving a paid internship this fall with Web Direct Brands. I have been enrolled with film classes since my freshmen yea
